Ghaziabad is also referred to as “Gateway of UP” because of its proximity to New Delhi, forming part of the National Capital Territory. It is towards the east of the National Capital. It is a large and well planned city and is considered to be an important commercial, industrial and an educational hub of western UP. The city lies on the bank of the river Hindon and also houses the Hindon Air Force Station. There are a large number of residential projects which are either completed or are coming up in a well planned manner primarily along NH-24. Ghaziabad is well connected with Delhi through Delhi Metro on the Blue Line. There are two metro stations at Vaishali and Kaushambi. Sahibabad, the adjoining city to Ghaziabad is again a major industrial hub.
